A course that blends editorial design with cultural storytelling. Learn to craft meaningful publications, zines, journals, catalogues through typography, layout, imagery, and community collaboration. By the end, you’ll produce a print or digital publication co-created with artisans or researchers, rooted in real stories and thoughtful design.


Objective

To design publications that combine narrative, typography, and layout grounded in cultural storytelling and artisanal collaboration.


Modules

  • Introduction to editorial design: Grid systems, type hierarchy

  • Understanding cultural structure: Layout & context

  • Type pairing and rhythm for readability

  • Imagery, whitespace, and pacing for storytelling

  • Designing for zines, journals, catalogues, and digital readers

  • Print production basics and digital publishing platforms

  • Visual storytelling through photography and illustration

  • Collaborative storytelling with communities


Outcomes

A fully designed and printed (or interactive) publication with a cultural or thematic focus, co-created with artisans, community, writers, illustrators, or researchers.


APPLICATION PROCESS

Our selective application process begins with your Statement of Purpose and portfolio showcasing your most distinctive work, followed by a creative aptitude task. Shortlisted candidates are invited to a personal online conversation to ensure alignment with the program’s vision and standards.


FEE STRUCTURE & SCHOLARSHIP

This program is designed as an intensive, high-impact learning journey. The fee is 12,000 INR per month, tailored to the duration you choose.

We believe that exceptional talent and strong commitment deserve to be nurtured. Learners demonstrating outstanding potential reflected in their Statement of Purpose, Portfolio, and Aptitude Interview performance may secure scholarships covering up to 50% of the total fee.
